We want you to understand what information we collect, what we don’t collect, and how we collect, use, and store information. We do not collect logs of your activity, including no logging of browsing history, traffic destination, data content, or DNS queries. We also never store connection logs, meaning no logs of your IP address, your outgoing VPN IP address, connection timestamp, or session duration.
Our guiding principle toward data collection is to collect only the minimal data required to operate our VPN service at scale. We designed our systems to not have sensitive data about our customers; even when compelled, we cannot provide data that we do not possess.
This privacy policy will help you understand how Wahoo Technology. (“WahooVPN,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and stores information.
WahooVPN collects the minimal information necessary to provide our service:
This information is collected for the purpose of administering your WahooVPN subscription and includes your name, email address, and payment information, which you submit on our order page when you subscribe for the Services.
WahooVPN collects minimal information about usage in order to maintain excellent customer support and quality of service. The section below specifies in detail what information we collect. These statistics never include anything about what the user did with the VPN: no data about the contents or destinations of VPN traffic, no DNS queries, and no IP addresses.
WahooVPN collects personal information that you provide to us directly through the Site. We require that you provide personal information, such as an email address and payment information, in order to establish an WahooVPN account, and so that we can email you, collect payments from you, and respond to support queries that you initiate. The specific information collected varies depending on the payment method you choose. To minimize the amount of personal information you submit to us, we recommend that you use privacy-preserving payment methods when subscribing to our Service.
With some forms of payment, the Site may redirect you to the website of a third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, BitPay, etc.) to complete the transaction. To understand what personal information these processors collect and store, please refer to the respective processor's terms and privacy policy.
WahooVPN uses your email address for the following reasons:
WahooVPN uses your personal information only for the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We ensure that we never log browsing history, traffic destination, data content, IP addresses, or DNS queries. Therefore:
Should anyone try to compel WahooVPN to release user information based on any of the above, we cannot supply this information because the data don’t exist.
In order to maintain excellent customer support and quality of service, WahooVPN collects the following minimal, aggregate, non-identifying information related to your VPN usage:
We collect minimal usage statistics solely to maintain our quality of service. For example, analytics might show us that our users initiated 10,000 connections to our New York location yesterday and transferred a total of 50 TB across all users connected there. This helps us ensure we have enough server capacity. This data is aggregated and anonymized; we cannot trace specific activity back to an individual user.
We’ve engineered our systems to categorically eliminate storage of sensitive data. We may know THAT a user account has used WahooVPN, but we never know HOW they have utilized our Service. We stand by our firm commitment to our customers’ privacy by not possessing any data related to a user’s online activities.
The cookies set by WahooVPN are strictly necessary for site functionality. They enable us to set your language preference, attribute visitors to a marketing channel (anonymously), and, once you log in, securely show you information that is specific to your account. The cookies contain a user identifier for session management but no directly personally identifying information such as your name or email address, and do not track any activity outside of WahooVPN’s domains.
WahooVPN selectively uses third-party services such as analytics platforms (e.g., a privacy-focused alternative like Matomo or Plausible, or if necessary, Google Analytics under strict anonymization settings) and potentially advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads). Cookies or similar technologies from such services may be used to collect aggregated, non-identifying data for statistical reports (e.g., time spent on site, page visits) or to measure advertising effectiveness.
For instance, we might use analytics to understand website traffic patterns or use advertising pixels to measure the performance of campaigns shown on third-party websites (including Google) to users who may have visited our Site.
Any data collected by third parties will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the respective third party's privacy policy. Users can typically manage cookie preferences through their browser settings and opt-out of tracking from major providers:
Our mobile applications may utilize mobile identifiers (like Apple's IDFA or Android's Advertising ID) for analytics and performance monitoring, similar to cookies on the web. These identifiers are provided by the mobile OS and do not contain your name or email address. They help us understand app usage and diagnose issues.
Users may limit ad tracking or reset the mobile identifiers associated with their devices at any time through their device settings. For instructions, see Apple’s documentation on Limit Ad Tracking for iOS devices and Google’s documentation on managing Google Settings for Android devices.
The Site may contain links to external websites that do not fall under WahooVPN’s domain. WahooVPN is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such external websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
By using the Site, Content, Apps, Software, or Services, you agree to have your information handled as described in our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy.
The Services are intended for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe your child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.
WahooVPN is committed to user privacy globally. Our existing practices reflect this through minimal data collection and ensuring users have control over their personal information. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union (EU) requires us to outline these practices specifically for users in the EU.
In line with the GDPR, we collect and process the data outlined in this Privacy Policy on one of the following legal bases, depending on the circumstances:
EU users can exercise their rights under the GDPR (Access, Rectification, Erasure, Portability, Objection, Restriction of Processing) regarding their personal information by contacting us at service@wahoovpn.com.
We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (like an email notification or an announcement in the app). Your continued use of the Site or Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
